Current  Problem  Cover(s)

March 03, 2006 - Route Agent Irv Heimburger submits the above cover in an attempt to identify the meaning of the red colored pencil '32' and '12 1/2 CENTS' hand-stamp. The question is where they were applied and why?

As can be seen, the cover was posted at Hampton, New Hampshire, 4- Oct-1870, 6¢ and 30¢ 1869 stamps, routed 'via Marseilles' to Anjer, Java. Red '32' upper middle, and '12 1/2' hand-stamped in the lower middle. London PAID 17 OC 70. Back stamped Anjer 29-Nov-1870. PF 394217. Signed Ashbrook.
