Exhibition CD-ROM Program

As an adjunct to our exhibition photocopy service (see below), the Society encourages members to submit electronic copies of their exhibits to be made available (for sale) in CD format, as part of our effort to promote interest and knowledge of philately, as well as disseminate information. Such material should be appropriate for the scope of our Society, which generally encompasses U.S. Stamps and Postal History through 1893. We would like exhibit pages that are scanned at no less than 300 dpi and available in either JPG or PDF format. Each exhibit page should have a separate file and all of the files should be placed on a CD. Once submitted to us, we shall convert any non-PDF files into PDF format and set up an index with 16 files for each frame of the exhibit. While we would prefer to have no less than three frames of material for the exhibit CD program, exhibits and/or studies of less than three frames are kindly requested for Members' Domain placement. Please contact Michael Heller if you have any such material available to the Society.

The Society would greatly appreciate help from our membership in editing material for our exhibition CD program. We are looking for individuals who have access to the software (and the requisite technical skills) needed to edit the files on CDs, including Adobe Photoshop (for enhancing the files, including straightening out crooked pages) and Adobe Acrobat (the PDF file maker that allows for assembly of the final document in PDF format). We recognize that some of these CDs shall take a fair amount of time to properly edit, but you will be doing your Society a great deal of service in helping to make these CDs available to our membership. If you would like to help out in this effort, please contact Michael Heller.
