"We are beholden to Mr. C.W. Remele for this long-needed subject index. To conserve space author's names are omitted. The railroad-marking list is so detailed and extensive in the CHRONICLE that each railroad is not separately indexed. Mr. Remele writes that at some future time he hopes to index all such references according to railroad name.
The number before the hyphen indicates the Issue; the number or numbers after the hyphen indicate the Page. "P" indicates that the marking is illustrated only on a plate and is not individually named in the text."
