Subscription to The Chronicle of the U.S.Classic Postal Issues. This journal, published quarterly, contains much new information resulting from research by Society members who are recognized specialists and students. The Chronicle is the only journal devoted exclusively to U.S. nineteenth century philately. Subscription to the Chairman's Chatter, a bulletin which chats informally about the activities of the Society and its members, and also provides information on seminars conducted around the country, plans for the future, names of new members, etc. Access to the Members' Domain, the Society's online meeting place for sharing unpublished philatelic manuscripts, studies in progress, exhibits, and presentations. Special features of this site include online copies of the first 44 Chronicles, copies of which were difficult to obtain until now. They contain a wealth of information and Members are encouraged to download these Chronicles for reading and/or printing. Another feature is the listing of earliest documented usages (EDUs), including scans of many of these rare covers. The Society occasionally sponsors philatelic publications which add materially to existing knowledge about early U.S. stamps and postal history.
Membership is open to all persons of good character. The Society is a non-profit organization. The Society operates on a membership year running from July 1 to June 30. An Applicants initial membership fee is pro-rated on a quarterly basis. Members, in good standing, of the American Philatelic Society (APS) may be admitted without furnishing further references. Others should submit two philatelic trade references. Members of the The U.S. Philatelic Classics Society, Inc. may be used in place of trade references.
Try a multiple year membership, it will protect you against dues increases.
Applicants should remit their Membership Application Form An applicant whose mailing address is outside the U.S. zip code delivery areas must pay foreign member rates, which include a $14.00 surcharge to cover additional mailing costs. The column headed "First Chronicle" indicates the first issue of our quarterly magazine each new member will receive.
