
Richard Malmgren won the Reserve Grand Award, Multi-frame Large Gold, and the Marcus White Multi-frame Postal Stationary Award for “Hawaii Postcards from Inception to Annexation”.
Michael Mahler won the Single-frame Grand and Single-frame Large Gold for “California Blues, The Iconic 1857 Issue”.
Rounding out the top awards, Tony Dewey won the Most Popular Exhibit, Multi-frame Gold, and the APS Award of Excellence: Post-1980 for “The Amazing Cachets of Tom Mueller”.
Multi-frame Large Gold was won by Michael Mahler for “Rebel Documents, Yankee Stamps: How the Union Collected Its Stamp Taxes in the Confederacy, During Wartime Occupation and by Postwar Retroactive Stamping” (also American Revenue Society Medal); Lawrence Haber for “The Half-Penny (decimal) Machin” (also American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors Award of Excellence – Treatment); Vernon Morris for “Evolution of American Colonial Mail to Postal Act of 1792-1799” (also American Philatelic Society Award of Excellence: Pre-1900 and the USPCS Award); and Dwayne Littauer for “Pre-UPU Mail Between the United States and Bremen” (also APS Research Award and Postal History Society Award).
Multi-frame Gold was won by Peter Schwartz for “The United States 2nd Issue Inspectors Stamps 1864–65” and Alan Campbell for “The Use of Official Stamps in Washington, D. C., 1873-1884”.
Multi-frame Large Vermeil was won by Edward Field for “U.S. SUPPLEMENTARY REGISTRY SERVICE: 1932-1957” and Ravindra R. Vora for “Independent India: International Mail: First 25 Years”.
Anthony Dewey won Single-frame Large Gold for two exhibits: “The Postal Stationery of the United Nations Temporary Executive Authority (UNTEA) for Netherlands New Guinea” (also US Postal Stationary Society Single-frame Award) and “Swiss Official Stamps for the International Refugee Organization, 1950-1952”.
Single-frame Large Gold was also won by Mark Schwartz for “Packet Mail Sent from Essex County, Mass. 1840 up to UPU” and Wayne Farley for “Post Offices Failing or Refusing to Recognize W. VA Statehood; (August 17, 1863 – January 25, 1870)”.
James Cate won Single-frame Gold for “Confederate Military Mail – Chattanooga 1862-1864”.
Fran Adams won Single-frame Large Vermeil for “The Oceanographic Institute and Museum of Monaco : 1910-1960” (also American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors: Award of Honor).
