COLOPEX
COLOPEX 2024 was put on by the Columbus Philatelic Club May 31 and June 1st. This year’s event was held in Worthington, Ohio at the Worthington DoubleTree hotel.
Afredo Frohlich won Multi-frame Large Gold for “Delaware Postal History – 1732 to 1847” as well as the APS Award of Excellence Pre-1900; the American Philatelic Congress Book; and the US Cancellation Club Award.
Terry Hursh won Multi-frame Large Silver for “The Postal Issues of Faisal II of Iraq 1939-1958: The Life and Death of a Young King” as well as the AAPE Jean Benninghoff Encouragement Award and the Women Exhibitors Sterling Achievement Award.
MILCOPEX 2024
MILCOPEX 2024 was held at the Brookfield Conference Center in Brookfield, Wisconsin June 14 and 15. The show was organized and run by the Milwaukee Philatelic Society.
Vern Morris won the Multi-frame Grand Award for “Evolution of American Mail 1685 to 1799”. He also was awarded Multi-frame Large Gold; the APS Award of Excellence: Pre-1900; and the AAPE Award of Excellence: Treatment.
Appropriate to the show location, Larry Nix won Multi-frame Gold and the APS Research Award for “Wisconsin’s State Level Library Agencies”.
Again, very appropriate to the show’s location in Wisconsin, Ralph Nafziger‘s “The 3¢ 1934 Perforate Wisconsin Tercentenary” earned a Multi-frame Gold.
James Cate won Single-frame Large Vermeil for “Confederate Military Mail – Chattanooga 1862-1864”.
