Classic U.S. Stamps & Western Postal History, Join Us at Westpex!
Sponsored by Westpex and the U.S. Philatelic Classics Society
Growth of the American west was driven by the commerce that surrounded people seeking new opportunities. Early communication necessary for the western development were entirely dependent on the operation of a reliable mail system. This course will explore the history of those elements that comprised postal communications to, from, and within the early American West. This course is intended for students with an interest in 19th Century postal history who want to develop skills in interpreting rates, routes, and mail handling of western covers. The course registration fee is $45 for APS members, $95 for non-members.
