COLOPEX 2022 was held on June 10-11th, 2022 at their new venue, the Doubletree Hilton Worthington located at 175 Hutchinson Ave, Columbus, OH 43235. This was a WSP sponsored show; a handful of our members received some very impressive awards.
Ross Towle received the Reserve Grand for his Chile President Series: 1911-1937 exhibit. This exhibit also received a Multi-Frame Large Gold and the APS Award of Excellence 1900-1940.
The Single Frame Grand, Large Gold and American Philatelic Congress was presented to Hal Vogel for his exhibit, 1838-42 Wilkes Antarctic Expedition. Its many (often unfavorable facets).
Robert Meegan was awarded a Multi-Frame Large Gold, APS Award of Excellence Pre-1900, Postal History Society Award and our very own USPCS Medal for his United States Domestic Letter Rates From the Act of 1792 to October 1, 1883 exhibit. His other Multi-Frame exhibit, The Design, Production, and Selected Usages of the Large Banknote Issues of 1870 to 1888 received a Large Vermeil and U.S. Stamp Society Statue of Freedom Award.
For his exhibit, The Ways US Adhesive Postage Due (PD) Stamps and Their Surrogates Were Used, 1879-1986, Tony Wawrukiewicz received a Multi-Frame Large Gold and GPS Special Prize (non GPS member).
