The Garfield-Perry Stamp Show “March Party” occurred during March 18-20, 2022 at the Best Western Plus in Strongsville, OH. It was a WSP show and many of our members exhibited and brought home a wide range of awards.
Member Philatelic Exhibits
Mark Schwartz received a Grand, Multi-Frame Large Gold, the Garfield-Perry Award for the Best U.S. Exhibit, APS Research Medal and our very own USPCS Medal for his The New York Postmaster Provisional exhibit. He was also awarded a Single Frame Gold award for his Packet Mail sent from Essex County, Mass.: 1840 up to UPU exhibit.
John Hotchner was awarded a Multi-Frame Large Gold, Collectors Club of Chicago Gold Medallion and Errors, Freaks and Oddities Collectors Club First Award for his Rejections and Repairs in U.S. Stamp Production at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, 1917-2003 exhibit. He received a Multi-Frame Gold and APS Medal of Excellence for 1940-1980 Material for his Mail to and from American Prisoners of War, During and after the Korean War exhibit. He was also awarded a Grand, Single Frame Large Gold and Errors, Freaks and Oddities Collectors Club Second awards for his Perforating The Sheet Stamps Of The U.S. Third Bureau Issue, 1908-1922 exhibit.
For his Pan Am Clippers Conquer the Pacific exhibit, Jon Krupnick received a Multi-Frame Large Gold award along with an American Airmail Society Gold Medal.
Robert Meegan’s United States Domestic Letter Rates From the Act of 1792 to October 1, 1883 exhibit received a Multi-Frame Large Gold and the Thomas Allen Award for the Best Postal History Exhibit.
James Milgram received a Multi-Frame Large Gold and the American Philatelic Congress Award for his Registered Mail in the United States exhibit.
William Fort was awarded a Multi-Frame Gold and the United States Stamp Society Statue of Freedom Medal for his Fourth Bureau Issues Paying Postage & Fees exhibit.
For his The French Congo 1900 Pictorial Issue exhibit, Ken Nilsestuen received a Multi-Frame Gold award.
Dennis Sadowski received a Multi-Frame Vermeil and U.S. Cancellation Club award for his Lorain County Beauties: Fancy Cancels of the Banknote Era exhibit.
James Cate brought home a Multi-Frame Vermeil and the APS Medal of Excellence for Pre-1900 Material Military Postal History Award for his General Banks Division: Civil War Union Army Field Cancellations 1861-1862 exhibit.
