Jan Hofmeyer wins a Large Gold Medal and the Single Frame Champion of Champions at ChicagoPex

Other members winning Large Gold include Jim Milgram with his “Registered Mail in the United States”; Mike Mahler with “New York Stamp Taxes on Bonds, 1910-1920: Philatelic Shangri-la – Discovery of a Spectacular Philatelic Field Hidden for a Century” (also the Collectors Club of Chicago Gold Medallion, the American Philatelic Congress Award, and the ARA Award); Alfredo Frohlich with Classic Colombia, 1862-1863, the Fifth and Sixth Issues’ (also the APS Research Award); Tony Dewey for “The 3c Connecticut Tercentenary Issue of 1935 and its First Days”; Cheryl Ganz for her SF “Ted Bedell: Zeppelin Cachet Artist”; and Dan Undersander for “The ‘First’ U.S. Six Cents Postal Stationery Envelope”.

Those winning Gold Medals included the Rev. Stephen Knapp for his SF “Reuse Prevention Patent Test Explosion of 1876”; and Pat Walker with her SF “Ireland 1914: Civil Unrest in Ireland results in a Great War in Europe with Germany”.

Large Vermeil Medals were awarded to Dan Undersander for “Purcell and the (almost) 1894 U.S. Postal Contract” (Also the AAPE Award of Honor); and Jane Sodero for her SF “Milford House – A Rustic Resort in Southwest Nova Scotia”.

Lastly, Evangelos Kobolds won a Large Silver Medal with his SF “The First Greek Issues of 1861-62”.
