

Organized by the Oklahoma City Stamp Club, OKPEX 2023 ran June 23rd and 24th at the Reed Center in Midwest City, Oklahoma. The top three OKPEX 2023 awards were won by Society members.
Daniel Knowles won the multi-frame Grand Award for his “Mail Handling in the Confederate States of America by the Confederate Government and Private Individuals from Secession to Appomattox”; also a multi-frame Large Gold; the USPCS Medal; and the OKPEX Most Popular Award.
Tony Dewey won the single-frame Grand Award and a Large Gold for his “The War Rate: U. S. Postal Rates and Fees from Feb. 1, 1815 Through March 30, 1816”.
Tony Dewey also won the Reserve Grand Award for his “The U. S. Alphabet-Denominated Rate-Change Series, 1978-1998”; also a multi-frame Large Gold; the U.S. Stamp Society Freedom Medal; and the APS Post-1940 Medal of Excellence.
Multi-frame Large Gold was won by Alfredo Frohlich for “Delaware Postal History 1732-1847” (also the APS Pre-1900 Medal of Excellence); by Robert Hohertz for “Revenue Imprinted Papers of the Spanish-American War” (also the American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors Treatment Award and the APS Research Medal); and by Mike Farrell for “So Much to DUE, the Large Numeral Postage Due Stamps” (also the NSDA Ribbon for Outstanding Presentation; and the American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors Creativity Award).
Jim Cate won single-frame Large Gold for “CSA Military – Chattanooga 1862-1864” (also the Professional Stamp Experts Ribbon for Best Story).
Mike Farrell won multi-frame Large Vermeil for “Bogus Stamps of the Confederacy”. Alfredo Frohlich won single-frame Large Vermeil for “Columbia – The Simon Bolivar Centenary Issue of Dec. 17, 1930”.
Jim Cate won multi-frame Vermeil for “The American Freedom Train 1975-1976”.
Kenneth Trettin won multi-frame Large Silver for “Civil War Period Customs Cancels on U. S. Revenue Stamps and Documents”.
