The Northwest Federation of Stamp Clubs and Oregon Stamp Society Portland Philatelic Exhibitions hosted their APS WSP qualifying PIPEX Stamp Show 2022 at Embassy Suites Portland-Airport in Portland, OR on April 29-May 1. A few of our members exhibited and were in attendance with some of the highest awards being presented to our members.
Member Philatelic Exhibits
Roger Brody was awarded a Grand, Multi-Frame Large Gold, AAPE Award of Excellence – Treatment, and the United States Stamp Society Statue of Freedom Award for his exhibit, Jamestown 1907. His Single Frame exhibit, Great Americans Issue 1980-1999: Production Varieties brought home a Gold and APS Award of Excellence post-1980.
The Multi-Frame Reserve Grand and Large Gold was received by Ralp Nafziger for his The 3c 1936 Oregon Territory Issue exhibit. This exhibit also received a American FDC Society Award of Excellence and a United States Stamp Society Hugh M. Southgate Memorial Trophy.
Jan Hofmeyer’s The Process that led to the “Grill” Stamps of the United States 186-1868 exhibit was displayed in the Court of Honor. In the Single Frame category, his exhibit, Designing the 1861 3c Stamp of the USA received a Large Gold and APS Award of Excellence pre-1900.
In the Multi-Frame category, Nick Lombardi brought home a Large Vermeil for his Getting Collared: The Use of Stamp Collars in the United States exhibit.
Jerry Johnson was awarded a Multi-Frame Vermeil for his exhibit, United States Third Class Mail.
