Please join us at NAPEX July 7-9, 2019 for our Annual Meeting, Seminar and Dinner

The Annual Meeting of the U.S. Philatelic Classics Society will be held at Napex in McLean, Virginia on June 7-9  
In addition to several activities of note, including talks/meetings and a Society dinner (please see below), we are specifically asking you to consider exhibiting at this show, in support of both the show and the USPCS. Meetings and Seminars

The meetings are all on Saturday in room Stevens A.

8:00-10:00am:  USPCS Board Meeting
10:00-12noon:  USPCS General Meeting
1:30-2:30pm:  “Reminiscences of the History of Anniversary 1869 Exhibits”. Jeff Forster and Michael Laurence
2:30-3:30pm:  “Unusual Uses of the 2c Pictorial”. Steve Rose
4:00-5:00pm:  “Franklin Carrier: POD Proofs, Essays and Reprints, and the Schernikawand Brazer Essays” Cliff Alexander

Dinner

There will be a dinner on Friday night at American Prime, 1420 Spring Hill Rd, in McLean, shortly after the show closes. It has a nice bar if you want to get there early. We will have a dining room to ourselves to facilitate socializing during the dinner. We will be seated at tables for six or eight and the room can hold more than fifty people.  The restaurant is rated 4-1/2 stars out of 5. It is about a mile away, but there should be enough drivers that no one will have to walk. In any case, a bus stops at the front door of the hotel and it takes you to within two blocks of the restaurant for 50c. 
The price of the meal is $63.25 per guest. Checks should be sent in advance, made out to the USPCS and sent to Michael Plett, 2855 Willowmere Woods Dr., Vienna, VA 22180 (please note your desired entree on the check). The menu is shown below:

Appetizer

Caesar Salad
romaine lettuce, Grana Padano, house-made Caesar dressing & croutons

Entrees

Choice of:
12 oz NY Steak
with roasted redskin potatoes, grilled zucchini, yellow squash & port sauce
Smoked Duck & Gnocchi
house-smoked marinated duck breast served with house-made gnocchi, prosciutto, green onions, Asparagus & lemon cream sauce
North Atlantic Salmon Filet
served with tomato shallot relish
Grilled Shrimp ‘N’ Grits (PER REQUEST ONLY. NOT LISTED ON THE MENU)
grilled shrimp with andouille sausage, cherry tomatoes & jalapeno served over grit cake with cajun butter sauce

Sides are served family-style and include Brussels Sprouts with bacon along with mashed potatoes.

Dessert

Choice of:
Key Lime Pie
homemade tart Key lime pie with graham cracker crust
Guinness Cheesecake
homemade Guinness infused Philadelphia style cheesecake with crumbled Oreo crust
