The block of 6, 1870-79, 1/2d rose-red (SG-48) paid the 6d UPU postage rate. The adhesives are canceled by black, single circle ‘144’ in grid tuples LEAMINGTON/B/DE 13/74 hand stamps. Below is a red, single circle BOSTON/CEC/30/PAID receiving hand stamp. The 1/2d is Great Britain’s first half-penny adhesive.
