This year is awarded to Mark S. Schwartz for his many efforts on behalf of the USPCS. These include his service for the last 7 years as Assistant Treasurer, during which he has made our dues collection effort much more efficient; his efforts to determine what members wanted in a new website, and in the design of the theme and navigation structure of the new site; and in answering any request with “how can I help.”
The 2015 award is presented to Robert S. Boyd for his article “The Travers Papers: Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co.” which provides a narrative structure for an archive of 643 original documents for the era of the 1851 stamps, based on material originally assembled by Wilson Hulme II.
William H. Gross has spent almost a quarter century actively building various world-class stamp and postal history collections. He once described his life-long collecting as a relaxing hobby. His passion for our relaxing hobby and his accomplishments certainly make him one of the greatest stamp collectors of all times.
