THE INSPIRATION FOR THE DESIGN

The design was taken from the portrait bust of Andrew Jackson by Hiram Powers. Now at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The only known variety is the imperforate printing. There is some dispute as to if this is a proof or an issued stamp.
